There are quite a number of renewable energy technologies available in the UK. They divide into two main sections, those that generate electricity and those that heat water. The government intends to provide subsidies for both through the Feed In Tariff for electricity generation and the Renewable Heat Incentive which currently consists of the Renewable Heat Premium Payment for renewable heat technologies which provides a voucher to help with the purchase of equipment and is planned to become a payment scheme in 2012.
